When Alex and I first started dating, I'd go over to his Brooklyn apartment and we'd drink wine and order dinner. (I remember always getting insane butterflies when I walked up the stairs to apartment! He would lean over the banister to say hello, and I would get all heart-pound-y.) Anyway, he'd usually put on music by The Zombies, Love and The Smiths, so I thought he might appreciate these clever limited-edition prints.
I'm writing again...a full...hmmmm...okay less than 24 hours after my last post. Refer to the last post for context if you need to.
The writer who was disgusted with me (read post below), read my entry today and got in contact with me. We had conversations and I was able to understand what he meant. We have internet kissed and made up. I wasn't mad at him, just hurt and shocked by his disgust and his desire never to talk to me again. He reacted strongly but he's a man and men can do that.
Here's the crux of it. He thought a smart woman (me) wouldn't be the kind of woman to accept a man could call her a moron (deleted post) and I'd be turned on by it. I didn't do a good job of setting up the story because yes the guy called me a moron and yes I liked it, but it was in context of a very light teasing conversation in which I gave as good as I got. Men aren't always able to exchange a volley of witty insults with me. My confidence can be a little off putting, yes even intimidating. The men want to please me rather than tease me. I prefer the tease.
The other thing is I'm the furthest thing from moron. If a beautiful woman got called ugly she would laugh. It's the same with me...I'm very confident in my intelligence, in fact this guy was a match or better than I am in this dept. and he realized I have the ability to handle that particular insult. I laughed hard when he said it. It was damn funny.
I thank you wonderful readers for your private and public comments - you do matter. When this guy, internet dumped me (is there a term for that?) I was very hurt. What you do or say penetrates as I want it to. He wasn't the only reader who took objection with the way I'd talked about being called a moron, so I know I did a poor job of setting it up.
Truth is I want to be taken off my damn pedastal by men. Roissy talks about this all the time. Men should raise their value in a woman's eyes because of the omnipresent hypergamy instinct. That guy did just that. So did my emailer. I feel better - I've learned something and if every day I can, I'll be a happy bird.

For the record Dana rocks. A fan favorite of her since I first encountered her at Roissy. A woman who knows her shit. Who calls bullshit. Who is incredibly intelligent. Intimidating as hell - but for a good reason. She used to visit here once upon a time - but I recognize my fluff is a little too fluffy. I've seen her in action recently and won't link but let's just say she's kicking some serious ass. Respect.

I wrote this post a little while back and Racer-X had this to say about it: Sorry, this blog sounds suspicious to me. This person just starts blogging, then their husband dies, then they tell the whole world how hard it is financially and then they make a reference for donations for money through some paypal thing or something like that.
Sounds like another internet scam out of Eastern Europe to me.
Beware when anyone asks you for money over the internet. There are people who spend their entire lives writing BS over the internet to scam money.
It left a question in my mind and I've avoided the blog because I didn't like feeling I'd perhaps been fooled.
Then the Balloon Boy incident happened and it showed me more conclusively that their are manipulitive people in the world who will stoop at nothing, not even using their own children to advance their schemes for fame and/or money. If you're unaware of the incident because you've been living inside your own helium bubble click here.
Yesterday I decided to visit her site again and see if there were more appeals for money and if she was still writing. She is. There was also a link...to a TV news report interviewing her about the loss of her husband. It turns out she wasn't being dishonest, she is a real person who is experiencing a real tragedy. I had mixed feelings at the discovery. Knowing it was true brought back the pain I felt for her when I read the news her husband had died, it was easier to be angry at her deception than feel sadness at her terrible loss.
It's a sad state of world affairs when we have to be distrustful of every one and every thing.

I love this chick - her voice rocks and has since since early American Idol days. What I don't love is her stylist. Who the hell thought putting her in that dress would do her any favours? She needed an A-line skirt which didn't hug her overly generous thighs. The pulling of the fabric across her thighs didn't add anything to her body either.
This is what her stylist should have chosen:

A lower rounded neckline would flatter Kelly's face and the dress would balance her shoulders and her hips, the boots combined with matching tights would add height to her figure and take away some of the stubbiness. Not to mention she is dressing like she's 50+ in the video. Gawd.
Now onto the hair. Her face is too full/bloated looking for a pulled back ponytail. She's quite cute and hair around her face would soften her quite a bit. Here's how she HAS looked with better hair.
See all better now.
Hey Kelly I won't charge as much as those stylist's you've got on your payroll - call me k?

Kanye who may or may not have a mental illness stormed the VMA stage tonight infuriated that Taylor Swift took the award for best female video declaring that Beyonce's was the best. He took her mic from her and announced this news.
Jerk.
Believe what you want to believe. But don't ruin someones moment because of your narcissistic arrogance.
Apparently he was escorted out of the building. He was booed every time his name got mentioned through out the night.
He may be an alpha male who can say.
One thing's for sure.
He's pure asshole.
Beyoce ended up winning video of the year with her video, Kanye should have held his pee pee a litle longer huh. In a smart PR move Beyonce wisely let Taylor have the spotlight and accept her award in Beyonce's spot. Not sure how long they'll allow use of the video...but a good watch if it's still available.
