Courtesy of the Washington Post:
Palin told her supporters via e-mail that her “One Nation Tour” bus would descend upon the Hawkeye State. The part of her missive that elicited side-eyes from me was this. “The heartland is perfect territory for more of the One Nation Tour as we put forth efforts to revitalize the fundamental restoration of America by highlighting our nation’s heart, history, and founding principles,” Palin wrote.
What, pray tell, are “efforts to revitalize the fundamental restoration of America”? Did I somehow miss her detailed plan to pay off the nation’s $14.3 trillion debt and create jobs for the growing ranks of the unemployed? Americans want solutions to the worst economy in their lifetimes. They are hungry for leaders who have the courage to present realistic plans to turn things around. But if some of those Americans are looking to Palin for said solutions, they are bound to starve.
Remember, no matter what she says or does, Palin is not running for president. The half-term governor of Alaska parlayed her 2008 vice presidential nomination into a bankroll-busting career as a best-selling author and reality-television star who is accountable to no one but herself for what she says and does. As a star, Palin is terrific. She’s a natural talent. And she is well aware of and comfortable in exercising her ability to steal other people’s spotlight. That she would give up that kind of power for the confines of the campaign trail is unfathomable.
Now why does that summation sound familiar?
Oh yeah, because THAT is pretty much what I have been saying all along.
And I have to say that with Bristol's new reality show, Mercede's Playboy interview, the birth of a new grandbaby raising embarrassing questions, and Levi and Joe's books about to hit the stands, I find it even less likely she will declare than I ever did in the past.
However, and I feel obligated to always add this caveat, this IS Sarah Palin, who might very well be willing to launch a Presidential campaign solely to prove her critics wrong.
Yes, she IS that petty.
However I have no idea who Palin can convince to accompany her on the campaign trail if she WERE to declare her candidacy. Piper starts school next Tuesday (Yes she is going to school, one of my sources saw her registering), Bristol is filming her reality show, Track has a new baby to care for (And has said he wants NOTHING to do with her political activities), Willow is completely uncooperative, and Trig is much too big, and much too fussy to take along for photo ops.
That leaves only Sarah's parents (And really WHO finds them interesting anymore?), and Todd (Who I imagine has it written into his contract that he only has to do a handful of these appearances each year).
Let's face it, Palin simply will not launch a campaign without some family member to use as a shield. That alone might be the determining factor that keeps her stomping around her Wasilla compound in frustration, rather than out on the campaign trail stumbling over reporter's questions and generally making an ass out of herself.

She's back! Sarah Palin's fake political bus tour heads to Iowa. Well you did not think jury duty lasted forever did you?
Oooh, that made me red, white, and blue nauseous! I don't know what was more stomach churning, her voice, the over-saturation of patriotic imagery, or that hummingbird on crack editing job!
But wait, there's more!
From the depths of Mordor! (Or as you may know it, the Sea O'Pee):
Dear SarahPAC Supporter,
We are very happy to jump back on the bus for another leg of our “One Nation Tour”! We accept with gratefulness an invitation to meet folks at the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines this week. The heartland is perfect territory for more of the One Nation Tour as we put forth efforts to revitalize the fundamental restoration of America by highlighting our nation’s heart, history, and founding principles.
In a grossly ("Grossly?") weakened economy – especially when recovery is thwarted by today’s Obamanomics (Yeah, NOBODY uses that term.) – prudent Americans make sensible decisions to live within their means. This includes seeking affordable participation in more community events, local patriotic parades, and traditional all-American venues like state fairs. State fairs hold a special place in our nation’s history and heritage, so my family is honored to highlight one of them on one stop along the One Nation Tour route – America’s historic Iowa State Fair! (I’m also excited to try some of that famous fried butter-on-a-stick, fried cheesecake-on-a-stick, fried twinkies, etc. I’ll enjoy them in honor of those who’d rather make us just “eat our peas”!)
(Yes, screw healthy eating and common sense! "Rill Amerukans" eat deep fat fried, artery plugging heart attacks on a stick! Because with health care costs so high, and after the Republicans killed the public option, it is better to die fast than to linger in a hospital somewhere running up bills for your loved ones.)
Unlike next week’s Obama Bus Tour, taxpayers aren’t funding our tour, which is why we so appreciate your support in allowing us to be out there on the open road to visit with you to highlight small towns, big-hearted people, and the important role they play in our most exceptional nation.
(That's right Sarah Palin would NEVER ask every day Americans to pay for her self aggrandizing, political prick teasing bus tour!)
You can participate with support for the “One Nation Tour” through SarahPAC.com and following virtually by bookmarking the SarahPAC website. (Wait! You mean she IS asking every day Americans for money to pay for her self aggrandizing, political prick teasing bus tour?) We’ll have updates from the road as our Constitution-draped bus travels to shine a spotlight on more of our nation’s fine history.
Watch this video and let the American road inspire you!Thank you for your continued support of SarahPAC. Let’s stay committed to the worthy cause – restoring all that is good and strong and free in America!
Thank you sincerely,Sarah Palin
So what, you're surprised?
Did any of you REALLY expect Palin to sit at home pulling her hair out while the Iowa straw poll was being conducted, Rick Perry prepared to launch his campaign, and Mercede Johnston was stealing her limelight by showing what a real Alaskan beauty looks like?
Well then you must be new here, welcome to the crazy world of Sarah "Me, Me, Me, it's all about Me!"Palin.
(By the way, I do still think she spent a little time sitting at home pulling her hair out first.)

SarahPAC paid $13,708 to decorate Sarah's bus so she could go on a five day vacation. How is that fiscal conservative BS working for ya? Update!
Courtesy of The Note:
Sarah Palin spent almost $14,000 to adorn her “One Nation” tour bus with larger-than-life renditions of the Constitution, Liberty Bell, and her signature.
That’s one of hundreds of expenditures listed in SarahPAC’s semi-annual FEC report, which was filed online today. The former Alaska governor’s political action committee paid $13,708.44 to the Tennessee company Fast Signs for “Bus Wrap” on May 26, three days before her tour of the northeast kicked off.
Unbelievable that the poor, undereducated paint chip eaters that are still dreaming of a Sarah Palin Presidency, spent almost $14,000 to decorate a bus so that their idol (And the only family member that could stand her) could visit tourist attractions for five days, while continuing to play the political prick tease in order to attract the publicity that she so desperately craves.
That is almost $3000 a day! And what did the Palin-bots GET for their hard earned money?
This:
And of course this. Not to mention this. And really who could forget this? Which of course inevitably led to this.
Well gee that was such a good investment I wonder what else Palin spent her supporter's retirement savings on?
SarahPAC raised $1,658,897 during the first six months of 2011 and spent $1,591,520. The PAC has $1,402,368 cash on hand. In a statement, SarahPAC treasurer Tim Crawford told ABC News that the group “more than doubled the amount we raised as compared to the same time period in 2009. We received more than 36,700 contributions from over 24,000 contributors.”
Among SarahPAC’s other noteworthy disbursements:
-- $26,295.47 to a Visa/BankCard payment center in Dallas, Tex. for “Air Fare, Lodging, Car Rental, Wireless.” The date of disbursement is June 2, the day she visited Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
Presumably, the sum accounts for some of the cost of her “One Nation” tour.
So besides the $14,000 she wasted on this "bus tour" she also spent an additional $26,000 on air fare, lodging, and "CAR RENTAL!" What the hell for? She had a bus with $14,000 worth of decorations on it that she could both live in AND use for transportation!
-- $5,794 to Israel’s Sar-El Tours and Travel for a“Tour of Holy Land.” Palin visited Israel in March and met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Oh yeah, that trip ALSO turned out well.
-- $18,700 to Young America’s Foundation, a conservative outreach organization aimed at students.
Is that how much the brain washing of young people costs these days? How much do you want to bet she could not get HER kids to attend if she duct taped them to the top of her car and drove their ass there?
-- $10,000 to Peter Schweizer for “Research Consulting.” Schweizer is a conservative author based in Florida who Palin hired as her foreign policy adviser in May.
I wonder if part of his advice was for Palin to hide in her room for two days while visiting India in order to avoid the locals?
-- $5,416.66 to Anchorage, Alaska’s True North L'Attitudes for scheduling.
-- $683 to the Nashville, Tenn. store Nico & LaLa for bookmarks.
There is in fact much more in these filings, which you can find here.
I have a feeling that this is just the beginning and that we will learn much more about how Sarah wastes her supporters money in the days, and weeks ahead.
You know some days I feel bad for the people who are so besotted with Sarah Palin that they will allow her to take such advantage of them. Today is not one of those days.
You people are idiots, and she's a fraud, move on!
Update: It looks like the Washington Post has uncovered evidence that Palin's bus tour might actually have cost even MORE than we thought. Seriously?
But the total for the trip is likely much more, because many bills came in after the June 30 filing deadline, Sarah PAC treasurer Tim Crawford said in an interview. In addition, many other expenses associated with the trip, such as photography, videography, Internet fundraising and airfare, are more difficult to account for. (One item in the report describes $6,999 paid to an air charter company called Republican Presidential Travel on June 9, at the tail end of “One Nation.”)
Wait, what? There is a such thing as a "Republican Presidential Travel" airline? I have never heard of that.
And by the way neither have the folks over at Talking Points Memo. But they did learn THIS:
Doug Garrett, the former owner of Moby Dick Airways, told TPM that Republican Presidential Travel is headquartered in Alaska and under an agreement with the new owner of Moby Dick Airways only does charters in Alaska. He referred questions specifically about the services his company provided to Palin to SarahPAC.
Okay by a show of hands, does ANYBODY have any doubt that this airline is somehow ONLY providing flights to a certain half-term governor?
Yeah, that's what I thought.

What makes you think that Michele Bachmann is trying to steal Sarah Palin's mojo? I mean besides everything?
The idea that Michele Bachmann is ACTIVELY trying to supplant the Grizzled Mama in Teabagger hearts is simply ridiculous. Bachmann even said so herself a few days ago.
"They want to see two girls come together and have a mud wrestling fight, and I am not going to give that to them," Bachmann told a voter Wednesday who asked about her relationship with the former Alaska governor.
See media? No mud wrestling! (Even though from a purely male perspective that would be pretty AWESOME! Sorry, had a little testosterone surge there.)
So get over it media. Just because they sound alike, screw up historical facts alike, and dress alike,
sometimes exactly alike, it does NOT mean that Michele is trying to rip Sarah Palin off.
So just relax and enjoy watching Bachmann launch her Presidential campaign with her bus tour, and....
what?
Oh come on! ALL candidates have a bus that they ride around on to meet the voters. Why must we compare Bachmann's bus to....
Wow, they are similar aren't they? Are those even different buses, or did she actually steal Palin's bus and repaint it?
Well forget about the buses, because beyond that they have very little in common. And I am sure that most political observers would agree with me on that.
I'm sorry Sarah Jones, of Politicususa, what is that you are saying?
Both Bachmann and Palin are GOP puppets; religious extremists dressed up, puffed up and pushed out, sold to the highest bidder to put a pretty face on ugly ideas. Both women seem nice enough from afar, both are ostensibly good mothers from afar, both are absolutely hypocritical on almost every issue they purport to stand for and too ignorant to know it. Both are wildly over-confident, in the way that can only come from a small mind that cannot conceive of larger issues beyond the self-aggrandizing, unregulated id that drives them.
Both women bring out the worst in our culture. Both appeal to the lurking sexism, hooking it with a wink and bringing all women down into the mud with them if we dare call them out on it. Yes, if we dare say a word, we are then labeled ugly haters or “fat”. It’s as if we are back in Junior High, only I never knew anyone so shameless and tawdry as either of these two women in Junior High. It offends me to even address their vulgar cries for attention via their sexuality.
Oookay, well perhaps I misspoke.
Fine, I guess Bristol IS right for once and Bachmann is copying her mother (And doing it better by the way), but SURELY Sarah Palin is a big enough person to let it slide and simply enjoy what she has going for her.
You know like Bristol's very successful book tour. Oh that's right.
Well how about her new film? It's not like her supporters have to fake attendance numbers in order to make it seem more pop...oooh that's going to leave a mark.
Okay well Sarah Palin has "tough skin" so I imagine like any Mama Grizzly whose life is in the shitter she is taking all of this in stride, right?
Did anybody else just lose the feeling in their testicles? (Look away, Gryphen, look away!)
Yeah somehow I think that things might be a little chilly at Casa De Grizzly for he next several weeks.
Now if only no OTHER potential candidates do anything to piss her off, or make her feel like even more of a loser, things might just settle down.
From Politico:
Mitt Romney is slated to have private sit-downs with top officials while he's fundraising in London next week, potentially including Prime Minister David Cameron, per the Globe.
The story raises the possibility of a get-together with Margaret Thatcher, which would be noteworthy on a few levels - including her recent reported refusal to take a meeting with Sarah Palin. (Thatcher's office reportedly denied two British papers' stories that there was an intended snub by the elderly former politician) .
Somewhere in Wasilla a refrigerator just screamed in terror.

No Jury Duty for Sarah Palin.
Courtesy of the Alaska Dispatch:
The first day of the Sarah Palin jury watch passed with this simple recorded message to those called for jury duty: "Your services will not be needed on Friday, June 24.''
Those in the Palmer jury pool, which Palin has indicated include her, are to call back Friday night to find out about "possible service on Monday, June 27.
The former governor lives just up the road from Palmer in the small town of Wasilla, where she was once mayor. Local legal cases, however, are tried at the courthouse in Palmer.
The jury procedure in Alaska is to send jury duty notices to a small army of people. They are given a pool number. If there pool number is called, they are to report to the court house to await possible selection to a jury.
It is rare to get picked, and a half-dozen attorneys queried by Alaska Dispatch said that they would immediately move to waive Palin if she was actually called to sit on a jury.
As one of them put it, no one would want to bring to the courtroom the circus that seems to follow in the wake of the former Alaska governor these days.
Let's face it, she quit!
She was embarrassed by the attention her ridiculous Paul Revere statements attracted, her family abandoned her, and she started to get panicky, so she pulled the plug.
She quit. Her apologists can make up any bullshit excuse they want, but they are not fooling anybody. As we all know, quitting is what she does best, and she proved it for all the world to see yet again.
The jury duty excuse was the only thing she could come up with on the fly and it was essentially her version of "The dog ate my bus tour." Pathetic!

Lawrence O'Donnell drives a stake through the heart of the idea that Sarah Palin has ANY intention of launching a Presidential campaign for 2012.
Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy
So essentially Lawrence O'Donnell, and Jonathon Capehart, are simply pointing out what most of the media are not inclined to point out. Which is that Sarah Palin is no longer a viable politician, but instead simply a celebrity along the lines of a Lindsay Lohan. Only without the cocaine abuse and wasted talent.
And the reasons WHY the other "journalists" are loath to point this out, is because so long as they keep the possibility of a Palin Presidential run alive they can get more clicks on their websites, sell more subscriptions to their magazine, and attract more viewers to their cable "news" shows.
Which makes it even more interesting that Fox News so quickly jumped on this story, and reported it without ever even contacting Palin first (Since they are in fact the only news outlet with the capability to do so), to get her side of the story.
It kind of makes one wonder if the relationship between Fox News and Sarah Palin has not subtly changed somehow.
Or perhaps NOT so subtly changed.

Mystery of why Sarah Palin quit the One Nation bus tour revealed! She has jury duty. No, I am NOT kidding!
Courtesy of the Sarah Palin Information Blog:
Imagine our surprise when reading media reports today that the “One Nation Tour” has been cancelled. Why didn’t anyone tell me? Oh, wait, that’s because it hasn’t been cancelled. (Good ol’ media… you never cease to amaze!)
As I said myself at the end of the east coast leg of the tour, the summer is long, and I’m looking forward to hitting the open road again. The coming weeks are tight because civic duty calls (like most everyone else, even former governors get called up for jury duty) and I look forward to doing my part just like every other Alaskan.
I wouldn’t think it to be such a slow news day that, what with numerous wars and serious economic woes concerning Americans, a bus is driving news stories today. The next leg of the tour continues when the time comes. In the meantime, no one should jump to conclusions – certainly not the media with their long track record of getting things wrong or just making things up.
- Sarah Palin
Shequit postponed the bus tour because she had JURY DUTY?
Seriously? THAT is her excuse?
Which begs the question, does anybody really want a potential leader of this country who can't even manage to get out of jury duty?

Sarah Palin responds to reports that she quit One Nation bus tour. Update!
On Twitter of course:
This is the Fox report which Palin links to in the tweet.
So essentially Sister Sarah doesn't say she did NOT quit the bus tour, just that she never said she HAD quit the bus tour. And until the Queen hands down her royal proclamation, everybody can just kiss her high and mighty heinie.
Didn't Palin just pull this same stunt when somebody suggested she was about to announce whether she was running for president or not?
See? Without RAM'S help she cannot even come up with an original response, so she has to use some version of the same one over and over again.
"Hey I didn't SAY anything, nobody knows what I am doing until I SAY what I am doing! That is if I even decide that I WANT to tell anybody what I am doing! So just sit there and shut up until I tell you what to think!"
At this point anybody who still supports this fraud should have their voter registration card impounded until after they have had a mental health evaluation and been deemed competent. Somehow I don't think too many of them will make it through the screening successfully.
Update: Palin is in "Quitter Overdrive" as she cancels trip to Sudan as well.
Palin scrapped her visit to the North African country for scheduling reasons, several sources close to her said. She was planning to travel with Franklin Graham, the son of evangelical leader Billy Graham, as well as Fox News personality Greta Van Susteren to the July 9 independence ceremony of South Sudan, the sources said.
Okay Palin-bots, are your rationalization muscles all worn out yet?
Just walk away while you have even a shred of self respect left, she is NEVER going to be who you so desperately want her to be. Trust me, I live in Alaska, I KNOW!
Crap, I have to e-mail Joe McGinniss and tell him he was right.
Thanks a lot Sarah! You know I hate to be wrong.

In completely unforeseen shocker Sarah Palin quits her One Nation bus tour. What? Who could have predicted something like this?
Courtesy of Real Clear Politics:
When Palin launched her "One Nation" bus tour on Memorial Day amid a swirl of media attention and excitement from her fervent fan base, many political observers who had once dismissed her were reminded of the jolt that her candidacy could provide to what has thus far been a relatively sleepy GOP nominating fight.
As Palin toured historical sites along the East Coast, she was clearly reveling in the tangible excitement she'd ginned up: She even eagerly answered questions -- from the denizens of the "lamestream" media -- ranging from matters of political process to an array of issues facing the nation.
In an apparent repudiation to those who dismissed her trip as a mere publicity stunt, Palin's openness with reporters about her intentions to visit Iowa and South Carolina -- in addition to her highly scrutinized stop in the first-in-the-nation primary state of New Hampshire -- lent credence to her repeated assertions that she was indeed seriously considering a White House bid.
Though Palin and her staff never announced a timeline for the remaining legs of her trip, aides had drafted preliminary itineraries that would have taken her through the Midwest and Southeast at some point this month. But those travel blueprints are now in limbo, RCP has learned, as Palin and her family have reverted to the friendly confines of summertime Alaska, where the skies are currently alight for over 19 hours a day and the Bristol Bay salmon fishing season is nearing its peak.
As Palin enjoys her sojourn to the 49th state, she has not reconnected with key early-state figures like Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad and South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, and she may have jeopardized whatever political momentum she gained from her recent reemergence in the 2012 discussion. Her political action committee's website still greets visitors with a stale banner, announcing the nationwide bus tour beginning "[t]his Sunday, May 29th."
More than a few of Palin's core supporters have grown impatient and confused about her strategy, venting their frustration on Internet fan sites.
Okay quick who had "she will quit after the first week" in the "Immoral Minority guess when Sarah Palin disappoints her supporters yet again " office pool?
So what do you think made Sarah quit this time? Could it have been her embarrassing Paul Revere history screw up? Or the fact that virtually her entire family deserted her less than halfway through the trip? (Except for poor Piper of course.) Or could it have been that she was made aware of just how she would be received in places like, oh let's say South Carolina?
Ouch! That has to sting.
So after being taken for yet ANOTHER ride by this batshit crazy woman, only this time a bus ride, how are her supporters feeling today?
