Covers to Covet

I heart Nalini Singh! She's one of my all-time fave authors and her Psy-Changeling series is part of the reason why! Singh just released her cover for Tangle of Need, which is SnowDancer Riaz's book set to come out on May 29th, 2012. What do you think?

I'm not sure, but I think that model is Francesco Cura. I think he makes for a great Riaz! I like that his face is half casted in shadows. It's a little more sexy that way. Ialso  like the choice of colors on the side, but it kind of reminds me of Beastly's cover as well with the roses and thorns. Either way, this cover combined with the excerpt at the end of Archangel's Bladehas me pining already! May is too far away!

Review: Blaze of Memory by Nalini Singh

Blaze of Memory
by Nalini Singh
(Psy-Changeling # 7)
Paranormal Romance

Dev Santos discovers her unconscious and battered, with no memory of who she is. All she knows is that she's dangerous. Charged with protecting his people's most vulnerable secrets, Dev is duty-bound to eliminate all threats. It's a task he's never hesitated to complete...until he finds himself draws to a woman who might prove to be the enemy's most insidious weapon yet.

Stripped of her memories by a shadowy oppressor and programmed to carry out cold-blooded murder, Katya Haas is fighting desperately for her sanity. Her only hope is Dev. But how can she expect to gain the trust of a man who could very well be her next target? For in this game, one must die..

We are doing group reviews of the Psy Changeling series as we are all such huge fans of this series, but for this book, we were split in the middle! Annie loved it but Fran and Suzanne...not so much! So instead of integrating our reviews, here are our individual opinions about a couple of aspects of the books:

DEV & KATYA

Suzanne- This was the thing I disliked most about this book! At first it was because they hadn’t had much of a build up in the other books, especially Katya, so I don’t have that sense of knowing them a little before the book starts, but that’s okay, I can learn to love them, but even by the end of the book they still felt like secondary characters! And Dev, I didn’t like him. At all. He reminds me of a 80’s historical romance hero, you know the horrible ones I mean, controlling and aggressive, he would blow hot and cold, one minute being tender and gentle, the next thinking about killing her and threatening her! As for Katya, complete Stolkholm Syndrome heroine, he held her captive and kept intimidating and bullying her, how the hell do you fall in love!?

Fran- I actually liked Dev before this book, I thought he was an interesting character when I first read about him in Talin & Clay's book, and was actually looking forward to his story. But now that we get to read more about him, he fell flat. I think maybe he needed a different mate. I think a changeling female might've been better suited for him and we might've seen a different Dev. As for Katya...I have no comment for Katya. LOL She was just there! I felt bad for her and all, but there was no connection.

Annie- I freaking love Dev! As the Shine director, although we have no Changeling alpha males, he’s kind of like the alpha of his own people. I found myself loving him despite his initial icy persona. He also has a really cool gift with metal and it would have been great to him use it a little more. As for Katya after five pages I found myself really sympathising with her (Love the new name it suits her so much better, don’t you think? It’s less Psy and more personable). As a Psy she is physically weak and after what that bastard Ming did to her she is mentally caged but I found a quiet strength in her. She’s definitely my favourite of the Psy women! I adore her! In several parts of this book she shows some real courage, and I loved her for it and wanted to beat her for putting herself in so much danger!

CONCLUSION: I think we are going to have to agree to disagree! We will let you have Dev for your harem Annie LOL!

SILENCE:

Suzanne & Fran- I liked the progression of the breakdown of Silence. This book demonstrates perhaps more than the others that although Silence is in no way a good thing breaking Silence WILL have deadly consequences for a lot of people, Psy, human and Changeling. This book also gives you an understanding of perhaps why Silence was implemented in the first place. I love books when nothing is black and white and good and bad, and Nalini Singh has muddied up the waters a little, I found that although I don’t agree with Silence, I can see how it is useful and why it was used in the first place.

Annie- I totally agree! This book was great at showing Silence and when breaking Silence goes really bad. I like that the Forgotten were also considering trying to use Silence, this shows that maybe the Psy did have a good reason to start using it, even if it got corrupted later. But I am glad they finally decided against it!

LETTERS TO MATTHEW

All of us
- I think we all agreed that the letters were really beautiful and a great way of demonstrating that piece of time from when Silence was first brought to the attention of the Psy to when it was finally implemented. It gave you a very human look at what Silence meant to the Psy and it gave you information in little tantalizing pieces rather than just having one big monologue to read. For Fran and Suzanne these were some of the best bits of the book and Annie thinks they enhanced an already fabulous read.

We are all definitely going to be carrying on reading the rest of this amazing series, although a couple of us didn’t really like this one as much as the rest in this series, it will not stop us reading on to find out what happens next!

Review: Branded by Fire by Nalini Singh

Branded by Fire (Psy Changeling #6)
by Nalini Singh
Paranormal Romance

Fragile: Handle With Care. This book is so smokin’ hot it’s guaranteed to leave you with scorched knickers and the irresistible urge to bite...HARD!

This book is our favourite in this series. It just has it all. But the main two reasons? Riley and Mercy. Seriously! To start with... Riley is just perfect. Not only is he so hot that people have been known to spontaneously orgasm when they hear his name *cough Suzanne cough* He's also had a rough past, dealing with the death of both his parents, protecting the pack when he was nothing but a child and then the abduction, torture and almost death of his sister Brenna (from Caressed by Ice). He is always in control; always focused; always thinking. But when he puts all that focus, control and thoughts on one woman, she doesn't stand a chance. He is one extremely hot, very dominant and incredibly amazing wolf RAWR. You can't help but want to have a tumble in the forest with him... or in the shower... or against the door... no need for a bed really. They are completely overrated.

But let’s not leave Mercy behind! She is a dominant leopard female and because of this she struggles to find an equally dominant male who her leopard will respect. She has a take no shit attitude it is extremely loyal to her pack and her alpha, very much like Riley, but this was paired by a compassionate and playful nature. By the end of the book, I was a little in love with her!

The power play between these two caused a lot of tension, both emotional and sexual creating a really intense romance, which as they have such strong personalities, they have to work damn hard to make the relationship work. The tension also makes this book one of the hottest in the series, right from the first chapter, there is lots of biting and clawing going on, who knew being mauled could be so much fun?

We are also introduced to a couple of new characters, Eduardo and Joaquin they were definitely good alpha male material, and as the series seems to be running out of hot alpha felines, we could use a few more! And speaking of hot felines...what about Mercy's brothers? How about giving them some books!?! Bastian, Grey and Sage have some potential! Maybe Bastian could be the next DarkRiver book, huh?

And Sascha and Lucas *wells up* can I just say how happy I am about them!? That is another great thing about this series, you get to see the characters after their HEA. And we love the presence of kids, what kind of pack would it be without adorable little cubs and pups? Whether they are human, changeling or Psy, we love them all! The moments with Sakura and Riley, then Ben and Hawke? Too adorable who can resist a man who loves kids? Then there’s also Toby, whom we think can really be a major player in the rest of the series.

Speaking of children, it seems that Sienna has finally grown up and THANK YOU SINGH for this change! Bring on the Hawke/Sienna action!

And let’s not leave aside the storyline progression, action and drama in this book. The Psy are going crazy and the conflict is escalating as Silence starts to fragment. The Alliance is striking against Changelings and the Psy and in general causing a lot of trouble. And who could be the Ghost? We all have our ideas and can’t wait to find out!

Review: Hostage to Pleasure by Nalini Singh

Hostage to Pleasure (Psy-Changeling #5)
by Nalini Singh
Paranormal Romance

Hostage to Pleasure is the fifth book in the Psy-Changeling series and Dorian has been one of our favourite DarkRiver sentinels from the very start! Dorian is intense yet charming with just a pinch of angst, the perfect ingredients for a hot alpha hero.

Dorian is latent, which means he can’t shift and although many see it as a disadvantage, it doesn’t let that hinder his determination and protectiveness over Pack. Any disadvantage he may have he compensates for with his mad sharp shooting abilities and his even sharper mind. He is so charming in Mine to Possess so we were expecting the same in this book; however we see a darker side of Dorian. He was very angry and tense for most of his book. The reason is understandable since his lost his baby sister, Kylie to one of the Psy. But we couldn’t help wishing he would use some of his dazzling charm a little more on Ashaya Aleine.

Ashaya, she was in the previous book as the scientist who helped the rescue for Jon and Noor to prevent them from being experimented on by a psychopath. But now she wants to collect her IOU from the DarkRiver pack when she asks them to save her son Keenan. Ashaya was different from the other Psy in this series so far in the fact that she had already broken Silence when we met her, but still uses it as a shield to protect herself from the Council. We liked this about this book, we already have three books in the series about different Psy learning to crack Silence but Nalini Singh has found a new way of presenting a Psy character to keep it original and fresh. Another reason for liking Ashaya was Keenan, they connection between them was lovely and she had some great motherly moments with her son, Keenan! They were so sweet! Keenan saying he wanted to marry Noor was adorable!

The romance between the two, although not as hot as some (I personally think that so far Visions of Heat has been the most erotic book) Ashaya and Dorian still had plenty of chemistry and I loved seeing the push and pull between them, neither of them ever dreamed they would want to be mated to each other. Dorian because she is a Psy and he’s still enraged at the Psy for his little sister’s death, and Ashaya because she has many secrets she thought she would never have to reveal.

This book also carries on the Psy-Changeling cold war, and it has now escalated slightly as the Psy face more civil unrest and a new element, the Human Alliance is introduced. This series is not only great fo r the romance but for the plot as well, we all want to know if Silence will ever to be lifted and the consequences if it is.

Mercy’s book is next! This will be the first Changeling on Changeline romance and we cannot wait to read it! Is it bad to say that we’re happy that the main characters are not Psy? The DarkRiver and SnowDancer packs are much more interesting!

We also just wanted to say that we love how Singh incorporates interracial couplings in her books! She is one of the authors who doesn’t see race as a boundary and uses it enhance her books is an amazing way! Nalini Singh, you have officially become one of Under the Covers favourite authors!

Favourite Quotes

Psy
...to love is to be flawed. And the Psy do not allow the flawed to live.
Ashaya
A kiss is a melding of mouths. I've considered every aspect of this form of affection since the last perplexing dream but I still don't see the point of it.
Dorian
"You're prone to mood swings."
Mood swings? He stopped halfway down the steps "Women have mood swings. Not men." It was a growl.

Review: An Enchanted Season Anthology by Nalini Singh, Erin McCarthy, Maggie Shayne & Jean Johnston

An Enchanted Season (Psy Changeling #3.5 & Murphy Sisters #1)
by Nalini Singh, Erin McCarthy, Maggie Shayne & Jean Johnston
Anthology-Paranormal Romance & Contemporary
Find it on Goodreads!

Overall Anthology Score:

I thought two of the stories in here were great I loved them, but the other two not so much. But I think likeing 50% is pretty good so I definately don't regret buying this anthology

Melting Frosty by Maggie Shayne

Holly and Matthew both had tradegy strike when they were 12 years old around the Christmas holidays. They both reacted completely differently though, Matthew has become a Scrooge who hates everything about Christmas and Holly who loves it and sees it as a chance to celebrate her happy childhood.

I didn't like this story that much, I found Holly really irritating, I don't like to think of myself as miserable, but bloody hell I hate it when characters are all happy-happy-joy-joy, does it make me a bitch if it makes me wanna slap and tell them to stop smiling all the damn time?! Matthew was okay, he was meant to be ruthless and icy, but he soon melted under the glare of all that Christmas cheer.

It was a quick read and it did have some funny and sweet moments but it just wasn't for me.

Charlottes Web by Erin McCarthy (Murphy Sisters #1)

Charlotte has loved for 8 years. 8 years of lusting and yearning for him. But what she doesn't know is that Will loves her right back, has done for years. With a little bit of witchery will they finally get together this year?

I LOVED this story. I have never read Erin McCarthy before although I have had Flat-Out Sexy on my TBR mountain for quite a while! I think now that I have had a taste of EM's writing it is going to be bumped up a bit! The story was funny, sexy and a little mischevious and it definately left me gagging for more.

Beat of Temptation by Nalini Singh (Psy-Changeling #3.5)

This is novella is the reason I got this book and I am so glad I did! It is about Tamsyn the DarkRiver packs healer and Nate one of the packs Senitals. If you have read the Psy Changeling books you will recognize them, they have been together for a long time and this book lets us see just how they got together. Like all NS's book it was fabulous, I loved both Nate and Tamsyn and I think together they make a great couple.

If you are a fan of the Psy Changeling series then this is a great little story about two of the recurring characters, if Psy Changeling is new to you then this gives you a glimpse in to the amazingness of this series!

Gifts of the Magi by Jean Johnston

A couple are running a Bed & Breakfast but it has hit hard times, a mortgage payment is due and a massive snow storm has just started meaning that all the guests booked into the Inn for Christmas have had to cancel. But when a Buddist, a Jew and a Muslim (yes I know the start of a bad joke lol!) unexpectedly walk through the door it all starts to look up.

A really sweet story about looking on the brightside and the virtues of hardwork. It was nice, it was cute, but it wasn't for me. I found it a little boring and there wasn't much of a story going on, just a series of unfortunate events that turn in to a series of miracles. It wasn't bad, but maybe I would have apprciated it more if I read it at Christmas time!!

Some stories are hotter then others but over all:

Review: Mine to Possess by Nalini Singh

Mine to Possess (Psy Changeling #4)
by Nalini Singh
Paranormal/Sci Fi Romance

It is finally the dark and mysterious Clay's turn to get his life turned upside down by the arrival of his mate. But unlike the others he has known who is mate was since he was 9 years old, only he was told she was dead. But he was lied to. In a childhood full of horror, Clay was the one shinning light in her life, but when he got taken away from her she had to cope on her own so she made him think she was dead. But now she needs his help, the street kids who she helps are going missing and turning up dead and mutilated and she needs his help to catch whoever is torturing the poor children.

First off, Talin is our FAVOURITE HEROINE IN THE SERIES! We absolutely adore her! She’s the first human, but she has as much bite as the other Psy girls and Brenna. Her past is a dark one and it has haunted her to this day. We all teared up as we read some of the things that happened to her. What we really liked was how possessive she got of Clay! Normally it is the other way round but we loved to see Tally get her proverbial claws out!

And Clay, none of us were that sure of his from the other books; he was an asshole to both Faith and to Sascha in the previous books, and really how many times are we going to read about a dark and brooding hero with a mysterious past? But this is Nalini Singh we should have known that by 2% into the book we would already be in love with him! Dark and broody he may be, but he is also funny and protective. We love the side that Tally brought out in him and we loved it when they played. We practically melted when the big bad pussy cat was so light hearted with Tally. These two made a fabulous couple and they both really deserved their Happily Ever After.

The introduction of Max Shannon was great and we're really looking forward to reading more about his character! Also, we can already tell that something is going to happen with Aleine and Dorian, are we right? We already approve of her. The fact that she gave up Jon and Noor shows that she’s got a heart. But WHY DO THEY ALWAYS HAVE TO GO FOR THE CHILDREN!? That infuriates us like nothing else! This book also shows you more about the Psy and how they are slowly fracturing from the inside because of the Silence protocol. This books gives HUGES hints about who The Ghost is! And we can't wait to find out if those hints are true or just a big tease.

The next book is Dorian's, will his leopard come out to play? We will find out soon!

Favourite Quotes

"What happened to you, Tally?"
The laughter seeped out the air. "I broke."
~~~
He seldom exploded in open fury, but man, could he brood.
~~~
"Your purr?" His smile was pure cat. "Only for you."
~~~
"You're so big." He would fill her up, take her over.
"Remember that," he groaned. "And tell everyone you know."
~~~
"I have a temper, baby, and I know I fucking brood. But even if I act pissed, even if I snarl, it doesn't mean I love you any less. Yor sould shines, Tally, and I'm so damn glad it shines for me."

Review: Caressed by Ice by Nalini Singh

Caressed by Ice (Psy Changeling #3)
by Nalini Singh
Paranormal/Sci f Romance

Is it me or does Nalini Singh's books just keep getting better and better! "Caressed by Ice" features Judd "The Ice Man" Lauren, who is a Psy that now lives with the SnowDancer Pack to protect his brother and his nieces and nephew who were going to put in for "rehabilitation" which is tantamount to death, and Brenna Kincaid, the Changeling female that was saved in the first book, but had been badly tortured and mind raped by Enrique Santiago, a Psy and member of the Council, until of course the SnowDancers and DarkRiver packs found out and tore him apart.
Who knew the Man of Ice could be so HOT?!
Before we started reading this book, Brenna and Judd seemed like an odd couple, but we were soooo wrong, they fitted together perfectly. Judd is a trained solider, a Psy with no emotions. But he didn’t feel as detached as Faith and Sascha when we first met them in their books. It might be the fact that he was there when Brenna was broken and needed her Pack the most. So we saw there was already some sort of emotion or feeling there despite his icy persona. Brenna, on the other hand, operates on feelings. She is driven by her emotions and gets frustrated when she doesn’t get what she wants. She is the fire, and Judd is ice. Together, they make an incredible couple! Their love story blossomed beautifully as Judd realizes he can't live without her and he must do something that he had never considered possible before, break Silence. Brenna was also great, I loved watching her break though Judd's walls and get to the man inside.

In this book, we also get a larger glimpse of the SnowDancer pack. One of the best things about this series is the Pack mentality. But betrayals do happen within the Pack. Dieter is a perfect example! I love that Singh incorporated his POV. This fact alone made me flip these pages one after the other until I found out who the bastard was! Riley & Drew, Brenna’s brothers, also show the flip side, and how close families are in teh Pack and how they help heal each other.

This book also continues the battle between the Psy and the Changelings and brings in a few new players like the Ghost, who has been working from within the Psy net to stop Protocol 1, which would turn the Psy into a hive mind controlled by the Council. I can't wait to see this story develop as well as see the next romance. The world the Nalini Singh is building is complex and each book seems to add a new layer.

Another great instalment in the series, full of romance, and action I can't wait to get my hands on the next one.

Favourite Quote:

“I take it back!” she cried. “Foreplay sucks!”

Review: Kiss of Snow by Nalini Singh

Kiss of Snow (Psy-Changeling # 10)
by Nalini Singh
Paranormal Romance

For Nalini Singh’s tenth book of the Psy-Changeling series, we decided to do something special for this Kiss of Snow review. Since we are all big fans of his series, we decided to write a “review” as an IM transcript. Please note that what you read below is actually a real conversation between Francesca and I and that the opinions expressed here are our own and events that take place did in fact happen.

We hope you enjoy and let us know in the comments if you would like to see more reviews written in this type of format! We’d love to hear your thoughts!

On to KISS OF SNOW:

Francesca: I think we need to give a warning to anyone that will read this book!

Annie: Okay, like this? WARNING! This book is so addictive, so sexy that you’ll need an extra change of panties (or two)!! Will require a day’s rest after reading the orgasmic alpha that is Hawke! Bring your gush bucket! You mean like that?

Francesca: YES!!

Annie: And a defibulator for when your heart stops beating at Hawke’s sexy words!!

Francesca:
Exactly! <Addresses to Maidens> YOU HAVE BEEN FOREWARNED!! OK, so I think we can start with our fangirl crush. How excited are we to finally have Hawke's book?!?!?!

Annie: Hawke! Hawke! Hawkee!!!! Hawke has been a favourite of mine every since he flirted with the DarkRiver alpha's mate, Sascha.

Francesca: Mine too. I feel like I've waited forever to read his story! Did you always want his mate to be Sienna?

Annie: Hawke has had my heart since the beginning. And NO, I wanted to be his mate. But if there had to be someone, then yes, Sienna was always the one for him. There was no doubt about that. How do you feel about the age difference between Hawke and Sienna?

Francesca: They've been tip-toeing around each other since Hawke took the Laurens' in, and as long as they waited for her to be adult, the age difference was never an issue for me. However I think it was addressed and dealt with perfectly in this book. My only problem with the age difference...We get 50% of what Hawke could've been. What about the romance and all the sexual tension?

Annie: I think the romance starts off from the very beginning. They have great chemistry. They just haven't acted upon it yet, you know?

Francesca: I agree. The build up is actually PERFECT. I like that he's not jumping her every time she offers. LOL

Annie: She's scared of him. He's a sexually potent guy and in addition, he's alpha. She's young too. Plus a Psy.

Francesca: What was your take on Sienna's development in character? From previous appearances in other books and her actions/decisions in this book?

Annie: I thinks she has come a long way. I didn't think I'd like her much. I don't LOVE her, but I don't hate her either. I think....I'm jealous mostly.

Francesca: I'm jealous too, but I'm just a little disappointed that Hawke is not getting the hot book from cover to cover I was expecting, he has to contain himself because he's afraid of scaring her.

Annie: It's not as hot as I thought it would be. But I knew there would be lots of sexual tension and there's plenty of that. I like that Sienna knows she wants Hawke despite her "younger" status. Hawke is infuriating, I love it when he gets angry!

Francesca: Hawke is just TOO SENSUAL, TOO DECADENT, TOO SEXY. I'm a puddle at his feet right now! He can do with me as he pleases

Annie: That's so true! I wouldn't change Hawke given the chance. I thought he was so sexy, so irresistible, I couldn't get enough of him! (Cue the swooning, please) And what about the sex scenes? <waggles eyebrows> Yeah?

Francesca: Hawke is a SEX GOD! <Lots of swooning>

Annie: Lots of groans and "Ohh my GOD!!!" moments for me. I had to take frequent breaks to control myself.

Francesca: He's soooo alpha. I was literally panting through the last 25% of the book.

Annie:
Gah! Yes! The ending was... wow! I have no words. Beyond anything I could conjure up myself. Action-packed is an understatement. I know you're a big fan of Riley and Drew as well, after reading this... who's your man now?

Francesca:
That's a tough question. Can I just keep all 4??? You forgot to include my man Judd in there! You know, something I loved about this book is how we still get to see Judd, Riley and Drew involved in the storyline.

Annie:
How would I forget sexy Judd?! And I won't judge if you want them all! I'd do the same! Speaking of others in the storyline... What did you think of Sascha?

Francesca:
She was a bit different in this one. I liked how they're slowly showing us her relationship with Nikita developing and maybe even unfolding things that could've been in the past. Nikita may have a heart after all! I think she loved Sascha from the beginning and was protecting her. And what about Lucas?

Annie:
I liked Lucas's protectiveness in this one. Loved that he would do anything to protect his woman and child. It was endearing and hot, showing that animalistic side that I don't think we always witness with the level-headed alpha. Okay, if Lucas and Hawke were dueling it out, who do you think would win?

Francesca:
<Looks from side to side> Definitely Hawke!!! I personally think he is a tougher alpha, at least from what we saw in this book.

Annie:
Hawke was amazing!

Francesca:
I'm curious to see what you thought of the Psy in this one!

Annie:
Is it just me or don't the Psy seem more dead and emotionless than they did in previous books? So devoid of anything. Creeps me the hell out.

Francesca:
Yeah I agree. Pure Psy and Ming are getting very bad!! But the arrows have some feeling!

Annie:
I'm very interested to see how that plays out! My mind is still trying to wrap my brain around who the ghost is.

Francesca:
I was pretty sure it was Kaleb before. And I'm still 70% - 75% on Kaleb, but after this book, Vasic is starting to look like another likely possibility.   But I just want Kaleb to get a book!

Annie:
What about Walker and Lara? Aren't they so sweet together?

Francesca:
Lara and Walker were such a nice addition to this book. I thought they were getting their own book before, but I think their story kept the sexual tension going! Loved it! Walker is so strong and sweet and loyal. I loved to see him caring for Lara all the time.

Annie:
They had their own bit of tension going on themselves. I loved it! It felt like an added bonus to an already sexy book. Who do you think should get their own book?

Francesca: RIAZ!!!!!! Right now I'm liking his character the most. Mysterious and sexy! So maybe Riaz and Jem??? What do we think about that? I want Riaz to get a mate! LOL He seems so intense. Have we seen Jem before? And after giving him some time to grow up more, I think Kit will have a really hot book.

Annie:
LOL! Yes yes! I want more of both!

Francesca:
Which brings me to my next question... We met a lot of young wolves, who did you like best?

Annie:
Hmm Tai. Kid’s growing up quick!

Francesca:
I think Evie (Indigo's sister) sounds like a really cool character. I hope she gets a story even if she doesn't end up with Tai.

Annie:
Even if they don't end up together, I would still want to read about them.

Francesca:
I also liked that we get to see the dynamics of the SnowDancers as a pack. The strategy, the meetings, the caring for each other...

Annie:
Sooo....Team DarkRiver or Team SnowDancer?

Francesca:
You should know my answer to that! SNOWDANCER.

Annie:
Ok ok I did know that. Me? I'm Team Changeling! LOL I can’t decide!

<Break in conversation: Francesca stops chatting for awhile>

Francesca:
I’m laughing my ass off now. Apparently my boyfriend has our convo on HIS phone somehow and he just told me that there’s this Annie girl texting him about some Lucas dude.

Annie:
<turns bright red and starts laughing> OMG!

Francesca:
He says we’re both retarded! Then he started laughing, LOL!

Annie:
This is so embarrassing! Omg, tell him I’m sorry. Next time I text him, I’ll talk about a chick instead, LOL!

Francesca:
Okay, he said he’ll respond to that and you can be his secret lover!

Annie:
LOL, you got it baby! <tries to stifle laughs and fails> I wonder what he thought about the gush bucket comment. Never mind. I don’t want to further embarrass myself.

Francesca: OMG I can't stop laughing! Alright, so I have one last question for you... Is it just me being extremely weird, but I have a thing for the RAT, Teijan, what about you?

Annie: Me too!!! Maybe he'll get a book soon? <Addresses the Maidens>What do you girls think about him? Tell us in the comments!

Francesca: Well, I think we're done! And I'm still Team SnowDancer. <Addresses the Maidens>What team are you on? VOTE BELOW!!!!

Favourite Quotes:
Francesca's Pick:
"How was dessert?" she asked, her throat a husky reminder that she'd screamed at the end.
A flash of teeth. "I plan to go back for seconds in a bit."
She sucked in a breath. "Bad wolf."
Sliding down his hand, he tugged at her damp curls.
"Hungry wolf."
Annie's Pick:
Her heart, her damned vulnerable heart, had been his from the day she understood what it was he incited against him. She had no true shields against him. Never had. Never would.

Battle of the Covers: UK vs USA

In honor of the release of Kiss of Snow on May 31st, what better way to celebrate than to have a Battle of the Covers - Psy-Changeling edition!  The UK recently got new covers and we'd love to see what you think!

I personally questioned what they were thinking when I first saw the US covers, but after reading them and falling in love with them, I ADORE the cheesy covers. I think they also add that bit of sci-fi feel with the lettering and colors. Cheesy, but cool.

Now for the UK covers....If I saw these books on the shelves at the store, I would gravitate towards them immediately. I love the black background and the bloodied faces! But now, they seem kind of boring and redundant with the half-face thing and the bloody slashes. Couldn't they think of another pose? And also, the heads look like they are floating! One thing I love, though is the lettering on the covers. Gorgeous!
What are your thoughts?
