Sponsored Post; bornprettystore

This post is sponsored by born pretty

Just a quick sponsored review today on some gorgeous nail polishes that I was recently sent by bornprettystore. They also sent me some eyelashes and deco items but I will be leaving those for a later, separate post.

baby blue & orange

Once again I am loving pastel colours, and after seeing some gorgeous blue and orange shades coming out bornprettystore were kind enough to sponsor me these two; Candy Blue & Candy Orange

First off, they may look like shatter polishes because of the lid, but they're not - just normal polishes. So what do they look like on?

Like this!

PROS
+ Easy to apply
+ Bright, clean colours
+ Lasts a while without chipping
+ Plenty of polish in a decent sized bottle
+ Orange could also work as a nude, with fewer coats
CONS
- 2 coats are needed

Final thoughts?!
Ok, so that's not really a con but there really isn't anything bad to say about these polishes. I think they're lovely and even though my pastel phases come and go I can see myself keeping these as they're good staple colours to have.

Sponsored Post; K-Circlelens

This post is sponsored by K-CircleLens

I choose a pair of lenses from the

Power/Prescription: 0.00 (plano) ~ -10.00
Lens Usage: Up to 12 months (depending on care)
Base Curve Radius: 8.8mm
Diameter: 14.5mm
Water Content: 38%

I have blue-grey eyes, so the effect may differ on those with darker eyes.

The Candy Series has been a popular choice in the gal and circle lens community for a long time thanks to the amazing enlarging, dolly eye effect the lenses create.

K-CircleLens were very professional and packaged the lenses really well...and inside the package I was greeted by a very cute bag.

mirror image fail

The items I received were all so cute, and I'm incredibly happy with the quality of the products I received. They also included a very handy travel case. I've not purchased/received one before so this was really appreciated.

Now onto the lenses...
These pictures were all taken in Autumn lighting, without flash...

without make-up

Note: I was rushed when doing this and didn't have the time for bottom lashes, which is a shame because I think these lenses would benefit even more from wearing them. Next time!

Look:
I adore these lenses. They offer a basic enlarging effect with a simple graduated colour. The colour is simple but effective and they blended so well with my own eyes. I would love to try these out in the green and blue some time.

Feel:
These were comfortable, but not as much as some of my others. My eyes were very itchy (due to allergies) the couple of times I have worn them though so I think a lot of it could be down to that.

If it is your first time wearing lenses, take it slowly and wear them for only a few hours each day so your eyes will get used to them. I wouldn't suggest wearing your lenses for too long unless you know it will be ok, and if they get dry just pop some contact lens-friendly eye solution in - never use water!

Thoughts:
These lenses match the rock-look I have been working into my codes lately, so I adore them. That being said I still think they would work well in sweet/agejo/mode codes etc. and I am looking forward to playing around with a new make-up style with these.

Oh so 'LUSH' !

Recently I have become a bit of a LUSH addict so I wanted to introduce you to a couple of their products that I love right now.

Trichomania Shampoo Bar
Retread Conditioner

After the bleaching etc. my hair has been through lately, LUSH's natural shampoos and conditioners have been welcomed with open arms. As you can see the shampoo bar which I bought about 3 months ago is still going - amazing Although it is on it's last legs haha

Of course it does depend on the size you buy but when the woman told me that the bars last so much longer than regular liquid shampoo I wasn't so sure...but it's true! That's probably my 3rd pot of conditioner but everyone knows you use more conditioner. Even so, I would say they still last about a month which is pretty good...and when you collect 5 pots & take them back in-store you get a free face mask. Bargain!

Since using both of these, my hair is the best it has been in years. I am sold!!

On the subject of showers/baths...

Whoosh Shower Jelly

The LUSH shower jellies always intrigued me so when my fiance's sister gifted me with this one I was a very happy girly. I definitely think it will come in handy too, because this is perfect for jet-lag or general tiredness, and with my return to university fast approaching this will be needed

I have high hopes for it, if only for the smell alone. The smell, oh the smell, it truly is amazing. I can't describe it but it's so fresh and invigorating...it kinda reminds me of the fizzy sweets I used to eat as a child

Jackie Oats Colour Supplement

Next up is something for the make-up bag.
I don't currently use foundation as I am sure you've seen me mention. I did want to try out a tinted moisturiser though, so I shopped around at MAC and a few other places. However they were all either too dark or felt bad on my skin. So I popped into LUSH.

The colour supplements they offer are great because they can be used solely as a foundation or concealer, or blended to create a tinted moisturiser. I did some tests in-store and the palest of the supplements suited me best, no surprise there then

I'm not really a big fan of natural make-up products but this is very good. This feels so much better on my skin, it's sensitive and it doesn't break me out. I also love that I can create my own shades & consistencies by mixing it with a moisturiser.

And last but certainly not least...

Heavanlili Massage Bar

I once had a member of the LUSH team treat me to a hand-massage at a TopShop lock-in (with the 'strawberry feels forever' bar), and the rest is history. I was so hooked by the smell and the softness of my skin afterwards that I had to have more!

I'm always pestering my fiance to give me a massage, because it helps relieve everday aches & pains, and is very relaxing~ So when I showed him the 'massage bar' section in The Lush Times, he went out and bought me one. Awww

The one above smells like Vanilla, and it's so gentle on your skin. As soon as you hold it in your hands it starts to melt into your skin, but don't worry it doesn't really melt. You just work a little into your hands, or onto your victim, and massage away. This one is always supposed to be a bit of an aphrodisiac though, so watch who you use it on haha

I really love how LUSH use natural, vegetarian ingredients in handmade products that aren't tested on animals...because believe it or not, there are still some companies that do nowadaysNot only that but their products are good on the body and smell awesome!!

Review; Naked Palette

Gorgeous, isn't it?

It's been a long time coming, but I finally purchased the 'Urban Decay Naked Palette' on my way back from Paris

Alanna planted the seed on this one, as she so usually does with me and make-up and Firipa cemented it, after I read her posts on it. I had been looking in Sephora hoping it would be discounted in the sales, but luckily, thanks to duty free, I managed to get it for £40£26!!

As you can see this is the 12 eyeshadow set (with 5 new shades), which comes with the good karma eyeshadow brush (which is great) as opposed to the other version which has only 10 shadows but comes with the glide on eye pencil

The shades range from Virgin (nude satin) to Gunmetal (dark grey metallic) in mattes, shimmers and glitters...

 A colour for every occasion!

But it doesn't end there, the palette also comes with...

The Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion!

This is great because even though the shadows are lovely by themselves, they work even better with a primer and of course they'll stay longer too.

Swatch Time!
...with primer

Virgin to Darkhorse

Toasted to Gunmetal

I am so impressed by the shadows in this palette. There's something for everyone, and every occasion. Not only that but the shadows are really pigmented - the above were done with only a swipe of my finger. I'm not surprised that some people pay the full £40 for it, it's definitely worth it

You can check out my use of half baked & smog here...and keep an eye out for more

Sponsored post; mukuCHU

This post is sponsored by mukuCHU Circle Lenses

This time I was sent another pair from the

Lenses - Green OL-103

Power/Prescription: 0.00 (plano) ~ -10.00
Lens Usage: Up to 12 months (depending on care)
Base Curve Radius: 8.6mm
Diameter: 14.00mm
Water Content: 38%

I have blue-grey eyes, so the effect may differ on those with darker eyes.

The Wing Series (by GEO) features a darker outer rim giving a larger more defined look. However it creates a more natural colour by evening out the tones.

I would recommend these lenses for those who want an enlarging effect without it being too much. I also happen to think that they work well with most gal styles as they're so adaptable.

Now onto the pictures...
These were all taken mid-morning, in Summer lighting, without flash...

Look:
I had previously tried out the grey lenses in this series and wasn't too happy with the look, but these were perfect for my eye colour. They blended really well and looked natural, they even enlarged my eyes a little with the dark outer edge, which is something other natural-look lenses don't usually offer.

Feel:
These were very comfortable. I wore these for a trial when I met with some friends and it was a very hot day, and my allergies were crazy. However I had my handy eye drops with me and after a few drops the itchy/dry eyes I usually get along with allergies were gone. The lenses themselves felt great; it was like I wasn't wearing any at all.

If it is your first time wearing lenses, take it slowly and wear them for only a few hours each day so your eyes will get used to them. I wouldn't suggest wearing your lenses for too long unless you know it will be ok, and if they get dry just pop some contact lens-friendly eye solution in - never use water!

Thoughts:
I loved these lenses. Mukuchu know me well, I adore green lenses and these did not let me down - a perfect choice on their part. They were comfortable, looked great and were natural whilst still enlarging my eyes slightly and making them stand out. These have now replaced my old favourites!!

Sponsored post; artie beauty

This post is sponsored by Artie Beauty Cosmetics

Recently, Artie were kind enough to sponsor me with the Dollywink Volume Mascara...

It came really quickly and was perfectly packaged. I also appreciated the business card, which I always think is a nice touch

I love the packaging of the Dollywink products, they never fail to impress in my opinion - the mascara comes in a plastic case which stands up so you can proudly display it in your collection

So what about the mascara?

 without
with

It's a little clumpy without a eyelash comb to help separate the lashes but it does definitely make them look thicker (it supposedly separates your lashes and makes them thicker). I was hoping for a different effect on my top lashes to be honest, as I can't always use a comb on them and clumpy lashes are a big no-no for me. Even so it worked nicely on my lower ones.

It blends a lot better with make-up...

Looks much better once the lashes have been tidied up, no?

Well it boosts that it's long-lasting and waterproof, both of which are attributes that I can say are true. I never had any trouble with it fading during the day, and I even managed to have a shower without it removing. That said, it does remove easily with make-up remover or wipes so don't worry.
The mascara wand is nothing extraordinary but I did like that it had an ultra fine tip on the brush so that you can use it on your lower lashes and the outer corners - good thinking!
