Official Synopsis : The Help stars Emma Stone as Skeeter, Viola Davis as Aibileen and Octavia Spencer as Minny-three very different, extraordinary women in Mississippi during the 1960s, who build an unlikely friendship around a secret writing project that breaks societal rules and puts them all at risk. From their improbable alliance a remarkable sisterhood emerges, instilling all of them with the courage to transcend the lines that define them, and the realization that sometimes those lines are made to be crossed-even if it means bringing everyone in town face-to-face with the changing times.

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 Release Date Announced
We might as well accept the fact that there is a Spider-Man reboot and that Sony intends to turn it into a franchise that may possibly even live to grow past the trilogy milestone. Next year, on July 3rd, "The Amazing Spider-Man" is coming out. As we speak, they have completed filming and are preparing to enter post-production. Now, Sony has announced a release date for the sequel : May 2nd, 2014. I guess they must be feeling pretty confident about this project. The script for the next installment is already underway. "The Amazing Spider-Man" is directed by Mark Webb ("500 Days of Summer") and stars Andrew Garfield ("The Social Network") as Peter Parker/Spidey, Emma Stone ("Easy A") as Gwen Stacy, Martin Sheen and Sally Field as Ben and May Parker, Peter's uncle and aunt, and Denis Leary as police captain George Stacy. The villains this time around will be The Lizard (Rhys Ifans) and Proto-Goblin (Irrfan Khan). What happened to the good old days when movies only had one villain ? Thank God "The Avengers" movie will even things up a bit by having more than one hero.

TWILIGHT Wins Big at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards
Now I know why I don't watch the MTV Movie Awards. In case you haven't heard the global cries of anguish, the big winner at last night's big and loud awards ceremony was "Twilight: Eclipse". The third movie (and worst) in the hugely popular fantasy saga managed to go home with no less than five awards, including Best Movie. What were the movies it competed against, you ask ? Well, only such small and insignificant cinematic works as "Black Swan", "Inception", "The Social Network" and "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1". If you're thinking Natalie Portman was the bomb in "Black Swan", you might be surprised to find out that in fact Kristen Stewart is the best actress of the year, once again for her part as Bella Swan (coincidence?) in "Twilight: Eclipse". And you've probably guessed who won for Best Male Performance. Yes, once again, "Twilight" leading vampire Robert Pattinson, who beat out fellow werewolf Taylor Lautner. At least they got one award right, as Best Comedic Performance went to Emma Stone for "Easy A".I find it funny, and not in a refreshing way, that a movie who only some months ago was front-runner at the Razzies, is now a big winner. And where else could they actually win awards, if not at the MTV Movie Awards. I don't mean to sound whiny, but the popularity of this saga, despite the increasingly low quality of its movie adaptations, is actually frightening and a cinematic step backwards. Here's my problem : this is like a green-light for studios to not care how bad their movies are, as long as they can get a faithful following to buy tickets, popcorn and DVDs. It might sound paranoid, but this is the begining of the end for quality cinema. I can already hear the studios rummaging through other popular works of teen literature, trying to find the next "Twilight".

SGALGG: Lesbian Oscars Edition
God, did you make it through all 127 hours of the Oscars telecast? Did anyone find James Franco’s personality? Or, better yet, could he have just shared whatever he was smoking with all of us. That way it would have been a much more enjoyable experience for all parties involved. Though, despite the show falling in its desperate attempt to be young and breaking its hipness, there were still some quality Straight Gals Acting Like Gay Gals moments. I mean, the show’s one conscious host Anne Hathaway herself called it “a great year for lesbians.”Michelle Willliams & Busy Phillips
Busy was Michele’s date for the Oscars, and they even arrived holding hands. Someone needs to give them a portmanteau tout de suite.
Gwyneth Paltrow & Cameron Diaz
I can’t tell if I’m more excited by the SGALGGy hug or the arm porn. Probably both.
Sandra Bullock & Halle Berry
I will pay good money to whoever has the next photo in this sequence. Kiss her you fool!
Marisa Tomei & Melissa Leo
Marisa looks like she’s about to jump into Melissa’s arms. And then, in my head, they do the dramatic lift from “Dirty Dancing.”
Selena Gomez & Taylor Swift
While the Bieber kid looks more lesbian, Selena and Taylor make a cuter couple.
Leslie Mann, Emma Stone & Jennifer Westfeldt
The best thing about this picture is how badly Judd Apatow wants to make this a foursome and how defiantly the ladies are keeping it a threesome.
Rosario Dawson & Jennifer Hudson
What I would not give to hear a “Take Me or Leave Me” duet between those two.
Reese Witherspoon & Elizabeth Banks
I’m assuming Reese just said something absolutely filthy about what she was going to do with that finger and Elizabeth approves.
Anne Hathaway
If only Anne had hosted with herself and her tuxedoed self, instead of James Franco. It would have been so much more entertaining, and hot.
Lea Michele & Dianna Agron
I particularly love how they both look like they’ve been caught in the act. Busted, Achele, busted.
GGALGG Bonus: Lora Hirschberg & her wife Laura
Out lesbian sound mixer Lora Hirschberg won for Inception and got a smooch on her way to the stage.
