It appears that boxing superstar and music enthusiast Manny Pacquiao is on his way to conquering the international music charts.
According to a USA Today.com’s article, Pacquiao’s single "Sometimes When We Touch" has reached No. 11 on Billboard's Secondary Adult Contemporary chart this week.
While it may still be far from toppling Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep” at No.1 and Lady Gaga’s “Edge of Glory” at No. 2, the Sarangani governor’s duet with singer-songwriter Dan Hill is steady in its climb on the charts, jumping to its current spot from 19th last month.
Hill who admitted to being “drawn by the honesty and the gentleness of his [Pacquiao’s] performance” served as background vocalist for the song released early this year.
"Sometimes When We Touch" is a 1977 ballad written and originally performed by Hill. It is one of his biggest hit, once placing 3rd in the US Billboard Hot 100, according to Wikipedia.
The eight division world champion covered the song when he appeared on the “Jimmy Kimmel Live Show” in 2009.
