Why do women let themselves go?

It's a little more difficult for me to come up with material to write about, seeing how this was primarily a dating blog, and now I'm seriously involved.  That said I think if I shifted my focus to relationship truths then it might work.  I'll blog about work from time to time, but mostly I'd like to stick to sex, lies and  attempt the truth.  My frenchman knows I write a blog, but has not interest in it, hasn't even asked me.  I thought this was odd at first, but now when I look at it, I think he just thinks of it as a thing I do and like.  Like my lack of interest in sports he has no interest in blogging. Actually I like it that way, I certainly want to keep this going and I have no desire for him to read my past life.   I can be quite angsty on these pages, and am not really in 'real' life, I'm much cooler in person. (I can dream right?).

Relationship discussion for today: Why women let themselves go.

We've all seen it.  Heck we can all see it coming.  If you're over 30 you know that all those hot 20 somethings will fade like black t-shirts after a few washes. Why?  I know that natural aging counts for some of it, but it's more than that.  It's failure to keep up with hair styles, clothes that look like you've shopped at Walmart and weight that keeps creeping on.  The women who let themselves go are the attached.  They've 'captured' the prey and feeling like he'll love them no matter what (because he says it) and then they give up the work of the chase.  They are unaware of how men work.  Men are very capable of staying in a relationship, but don't count on his eyes staying them, not to mention other parts of his anatomy.  He can compartmentalize and love them perhaps, but he doesn't lust after them.  Is it drive for women? Do they not care than he doesn't want them sexually?  Are they relieved when sex becomes less frequent maybe?

I feel that women of any age owe there partner to look their best.  It's respectful to your partner I think.  All men want a pretty wife.  Women know this don't they?  Yes.  If they know this why do they become fat and ugly?  It's disrespect for his desire if you ask me.  I don't mean a woman should look like a porn star or even a movie star, but she should maintain her weight, even after kids, do her hair and dress appropriately for her age.  35 does NOT mean granny panties...just sayin'.
