2012 - Life v death: Pro-Life Candidates & Your Abortion Tax $

The Pro-Life Presidential Leadership Pledge: Who Will Lead for Life in 2012?
The Susan B. Anthony List's 2012 Pro-life Presidential Leadership Pledge asks declared presidential candidates to commit to key pro-life goals if elected to the presidency in 2012.  While this is by no means a complete list of all pro-life objectives, having a President that actively supports these pro-life aims will keep up the momentum to achieve our ultimate goal of ending abortion in this country.  Click each candidates' name to see their signed pledge.

Rep. Michele Bachmann Speaker Newt Gingrich Rep. Ron Paul Gov. Tim Pawlenty Sen. Rick Santorum
The following candidates refused to sign the pledge: Herman Cain, Gov. Gary Johnson, Gov. Mitt Romney.

1997-2008 Planned Parenthood Federation of America Services to Pregnant Women

Earlier this year, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) released a report on federal funding of organizations that perform abortion.  The report found that from 2002-2009 pro-abortion groups spent over 1 billion dollars from the federal government.  This includes $657.1 million dollars to Planned Parenthood over 7 years.
This exorbitant amount of money does not tell the whole story.  Planned Parenthood and similar organizations take in much more money through funding streams not covered in the report, and from state and local grants.  The government's ties with abortion providers is deeply concerning, and passing these bills with be the first big step in ending this deadly relationship.
