Unprecedented P1-M cash prize for Miss World Phils. 2011 winner

The winner at the Miss World Philippines 2011 competition will bring home an unprecedented P1-million cash prize from CQ Global Quest Inc. (CQGQ), the exclusive licensee headed by Ms. Cory Quirino as chairperson and CEO. In addition, the winner will receive a luxurious seaside condominium unit at Sea Residences, courtesy of SM Development Corp., the main presenter of the prestigious beauty pageant.

The other presenters and sponsors are GMA Network, Inc., Banco de Oro, Petron, Smart Communications (which also donates 20 personal computers inclusive of a one-year free internet usage to the underprivileged school of the candidate bearing the “most extraordinary story”), AMA University (which grants four-year college scholarships to chosen finalists as well as lucky text senders), Philippine Airlines, BMW, Midas Hotel, Manila Hotel, Air Gurus and the City of Puerto Princesa, with SM Supermalls as official search partners.

There are 25 candidates vying for the title Miss World Philippines 2011 during the grand finals and coronation to be held tomorrow at the PICC. This will be broadcast live by GMA-7.


The candidates are Samantha Nerville Purvor, Julian Savard, Karen Joyce Penanueva, Irene Gabriel, Rogelie Catacutan, Charlotte Melissa Tyler, Gaydra Rama, Martha Chloe McCulley, Princess Tiffany Carbungco, Mercy Malaluan, Elaine Kay Moll, Gwendolyn Ruais, Joey Albert Short, Jaysel Arrozal, Loucelle de Jesus, Erin Lane, Donna Maricel Aldanese, Mae Liezel Ramos, Ma. Paula Bianca Paz, Christine Kate Adi, Helen Nicolette Henson and Erina Ann Lightholder. They were presented to the media by Ms. Quirino at a press presentation held at the Midas Hotel.

The candidates, who underwent rigorous training to prepare them for the big day, are billeted at the Midas Hotel while swimsuit competition was held in Puerto Princesa last Sept. 7-10 and pre-pageant night on Sept. 13 at the Manila Hotel.

Miss World Philippines was officially born on Jan. 25, 2011 when Miss World Ltd Chairman Julia Morley turned over the country license to Ms. Quirino as its national director in the presence of the reigning Miss World Alexandria Mills and 1st Princess Emma Wareus at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel.
