Under the guise of "creating jobs," Obama is pushing a bill he's calling the "American Jobs Act" -- that will KILL JOBS and RAISE TAXES.
He should call it the "KILL AMERICAN JOBS ACT".
Last night, in a speech that sounded at first like it had been written by Bill "I feel your pain" Clinton, Obama regurgitated the same old already-disproven Keynesian economic "stimulus" ideas that made everything WORSE last time.
Of course, he never mentioned the cost of his new bigger-government boondoggle �probably worried that Congress won't pass something that costs $447 billion right up front -- but he DID go into agonizing detail about who HE says will benefit from the plan. As noted by the National Journal, "Teachers, cops, veterans, school children, small-business men and many more were name-dropped by Obama with the refrain: 'Pass this bill and...' somebody cool will get or make a job."
The new spending would include tax credits for companies hiring veterans, aid to state and local governments to prevent the layoffs of police, firefighters, and up to 280,000 teachers, the modernization of 35,000 public schools, and a $10 billion infrastructure bank to help modernize roads, bridges, railroads, and airports.
It's all a bunch of poll-tested pledges, designed to help re-elect Obama... because this speech was REALLY nothing more than a campaign speech that accomplished NOTHING.
You see, it's all politics to these liberals -- they don't care about actual job creation... because actual job creation would mean that the federal government would have to GET THE HECK OUT OF THE WAY!!!
We don't need government to do more -- we need government to do A LOT LESS. If the government would just get out of the way from a regulation standpoint, and let American businesses do what they do, you'll see them continue to hire and grow the economy. To create jobs the economy needs demand. The economy is 70% consumer demand, so obviously we need consumers spending some of their discretionary income. And THAT means we need less regulation, less taxation -- we need the government to just GET THE HECK OUT OF THE WAY.
But the Obama regime just wants to put government IN the way -- Obama wants "Stimulus Plan II" to be passed, which will KILL JOBS, and KILL THE ECONOMY!
Oh, and how does he propose to "pay" for his job-killing bill? Why, he told the new "Super-Committee" created by the debt-ceiling fiasco to come up with that!
That means, as the AP put it, that it "will only be paid for if a committee he can't control does his bidding, if Congress puts that into law and if leaders in the future - the ones who will feel the fiscal pinch of his proposals - don't roll it back."

Essentially, the jobs plan is an IOU from a president and lawmakers who may not even be in office down the road when the bills come due. Today's Congress cannot bind a later one for future spending. A future Congress could simply reverse it. Currently, roughly all federal taxes and other revenues are consumed in spending on various federal benefit programs, including Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, veterans' benefits, food stamps, farm subsidies and other social-assistance programs and payments on the national debt. Pretty much everything else is done on credit with borrowed money. So there is no guarantee that programs that clearly will increase annual deficits in the near term will be paid for in the long term. To top it all off, knowing that his whole bill would have to be paid for with IOU's, Obama said -- QUOTE -- "It will not add to the deficit." HE LIED. Don't let him push through this bill!
Did you know that Republicans in Congress have already introduced bills that would SAVE jobs and lead to the creation of MORE jobs?
Sen. Rob Portman (R-OH) unveiled the Senate Republican Jobs Plan back in MAY of this year. It's a blueprint Senate Republicans developed to create private sector growth and strengthen the economy.
This is a pro-growth, pro-jobs plan that will create the environment necessary to get Americans back to work and ensure that American businesses are competitive globally.
Families and small businesses are weighed down by record debt and deficit, high taxes, burdensome regulations, and a costly health care plan that raises costs and reduces coverage. This approach by the Obama regime does nothing good, but just adds uncertainty for investors and costs for job creators. Portman's proposal would put us on a path to an environment where families and small businesses can succeed, not just get by.
The plan focuses on budget, tax, regulatory, workforce, trade, energy, and health care proposals that form the basis of a pro-growth plan to foster American private sector jobcreation and turn the economy around. In contrast to the plan proposed by Republicans, Obama and his liberal cronies have turned to more government spending and higher taxes, while pushing for overly burdensome regulations on job creators and manufacturers -- slowing our economic recovery. We've already learned from experience that we can't spend our way to prosperity. What we need to do instead is to encourage employers to invest in their companies, hire new workers and enable them to compete globally, which is what Portman's plan will do.
And on the House side, they've already put forth a solid Jobs Plan based on a pro-growth economic agenda that will put America back to work. Highlights of the House GOP plan include:
Empower Small Business Owners and Reduce Regulatory Burdens:
- Require congressional review and approval of any government regulations that have a significant impact on the economy or burden small businesses.
- Audit existing and pending regulations to identify and address those that hinder economic growth.
Fix the Tax Code to Help Job Creators:
- Increase American competitiveness to spur investment and create more American jobs by streamlining the tax code and lowering the tax rate for businesses and individuals including small business owners to no more than 25%.
- Reform the tax code to allow American businesses to bring back their overseas profits without having to pay a tax penalty so they can invest in our economy and create American jobs.
Increase Competitiveness for American Manufacturers:
- Pass the three pending free trade agreements with Colombia, Panama, and South Korea to create up to 250,000 jobs.
- Continue to open new markets to American made products.
Encourage Entrepreneurship and Growth:
- Modernize our patent system to protect our nation's innovators, discourage frivolous lawsuits, and expedite patent reviews.
- Re-Authorize and improve federal programs and approval processes to streamline development of new products. Remove barriers to building a first class workforce so that the United States can compete in the global marketplace and lead the way in technological development and growth.
Maximize Domestic Energy Production to Ensure an Energy Policy for the 21st Century:
- Promote lower energy prices through increased domestic production. Encourage all forms of energy production.
Pay Down America's Unsustainable Debt Burden and Start Living Within our Means:
- Build upon the House Republicans' Budget by enacting significant spending cuts.
You can boil both the House and Senate GOP jobs plans down to this: GET GOVERNMENT THE HECK OUT OF THE WAY!
But that's not going to happen if Barack Hussein Obama gets HIS way. Which is why YOU AND I need to take action... NOW.

And now, Obama tells us that the government is going to spend money it doesn't have to
"create jobs" building bridges and fixing roads. But that's what he told us the FIRST "stimulus plan" would do!
Did it? NO. Right now, we're at 1% growth in the American economy... but that's ONLY happening in the GOVERNMENT sector! There's NO private sector growth -- and when government growth accounts for economic growth, there is NO growth that benefits people in the private sector, pure and simple!
BARACK OBAMA MUST BE STOPPED, before he TOTALLY kills the American economy. And we CAN stop him and his cronies, by demanding that Congress REJECT his "KILL AMERICAN JOBS ACT" and support pro-jobs bills that have already been introduced -- but we MUST take action NOW!

Rush Limbaugh, as usual, had a GREAT commentary on the whole Obama regime leftist mentality that Washington, D.C. can somehow solve the jobs problem by "doing something" -- that what they REALLY need to do is GET OUT OF THE WAY: "Washington is nothing but a gigantic boulder in our highway to progress. I'm not saying this in a reactionary way. I'm not saying it even in an ideological way. This is pure, unadulterated fact! You simply cannot have this level of regulation on people who want to create jobs, who want to grow businesses.You just can't have this kind of shackle around them and expect magic to happen. You also cannot expect, after you've spent $800 billion ostensibly to create jobs -- when none of it went to create jobs, it all went to Democrat union workers -- for $300 billion more to create jobs magically!
