Yeah, when the doors of the landing craft first open, lots of you will be mowed down by the machine gunners of the Law Shool Industrial Complex.
The lucky percentage that make it past the barbed wire, and up the beach, and take out the German gunners in the pillbox.....will have a Career in Law I suppose.
And of course the even luckier ones won't even have to storm the beach, because they got jobs already, and they can pay cash for their tuitions.
But the big question is: Was enrolling in Law School supposed to be such a big gamble in the first place?
Anyway, I heard on the radio that Ann Coulter has a boyfriend now, and so, out of respect for AC and her boyfriend, and PK, I am going to cease and desist with all the Ann Coulter Stuff.
And I'm going to hang up the Conservative politcs as well, since it is all starting to sound hollow.
But I can argue both sides, Conservative and Liberal, because God knows I have heard enough political radio shows over the years while painting. I'm talking years and thousands of hours probably.
Hannity talks for 3 hours, and one at night on TV. But I have listened to Hannity's 3, and Limbaugh's 3, and Mark Levin for 1 or 2 hours, and even Glenn Beck when he was or is on the radio. Also to NPR of course.
The hands occupied, but the mind not, and taking it all in.
Anyway, I do want to re-post my Nicole Kidman Poem at some point, since I was able to find a nice song by an Irish band that was really part of the inspiration for the poem. It involves a young sailor and a beautiful mermaid, and is a great favorite of mine.
But what a diference a day makes!
Yesterday's post, with the fellow shooting himself, was just me being depressed over my debt I guess. And don't forget that this blog is like a personal journal in some ways.
I suppose an MD, or a nurse, or a person who works in a slaughterhouse or meat packing plant, or a battle hardened and seasoned soldier, wouldn't be too impressed by the graphic suicide from the last post.
So kids, run as fast as you can, and work hard.
But remember this: When it comes to Law School and a Legal Career, "Hard Work" is a necessary condition, but not always a sufficient one.
You'll see.
And run fast, like the boy in this scene from the movie: Gallipoli
And, on a more positive note for all the 1L's that are suffering in the trenches right now:
The world outside of Law School is a great big , wonderful place, with many beautiful people and things in it.
And who and what is there more beautiful than my beautiful mermaid, my ships figurehead, and Lady, my Classic Lady From Antiquity:
Nicole
Waves of silk and remonstrance are Thy tresses,
russet and gold.
Surround me with their fire;
Swallow me whole;
Take me to the bottom of the waves;
There to dwell forever
I, Your king
king of the unrequited dream.

Lady Nicole The blinding, and blazing, and deep, and brilliant and Beautiful calm, sapphire Gaze o'er the velvet, and fathomless timeless agitation of the Eternal ebony, blue Sea. |
And, well....since I am getting so many damn views today, here is the song I mentioned.
So goodbye Ann, goodbye.
I could marry the mermaid that lives in the sea :)
I love De Dannon's version of this song, and don't really know why.
