Values - Are We a Nation of Men… or Slaves? (Bill Heid & Judge Roy Moore)

Anthropologists like to say that if you can find the source of law in a given culture, you can then find that culture's god. In our own culture, that of the United States, the Judeo-Christian God and His law have been the foundational basis for our Declaration of Independence, our Bill of Rights, our Constitution, and subsequent laws.
Until we came to the middle of the 20th century, that is.
Today we are replacing the transcendent God of the Bible and His established laws with man and his law, and instead of living with clearly defined absolutes that do not change, we have become subject to the capriciousness of law that is determined by whoever carries the biggest stick. This type of law is based on whim, on fads, and the instability of human emotion. Instead of being governed by law, we become governed by the same mindset that brought us the most despicable tyrannies of the 20th century--the Hitlers, the Pol Pots, the Khomeinis, the Mao Tse Tungs, and the Saddam Husseins. Those who find themselves in the minority position seldom find protection or safety in this type of society, as evidenced by the Jews, the Christians, the Kurds, or anyone who finds themselves on the periphery of the mainstream.
Many of us remember Judge Roy Moore from his principled stand against a federal judge's ruling that he could not display a monument of the Ten Commandments in the Alabama state courthouse. He was eventually removed from his position as Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court, and today he joins us on Off the Grid Radio to expound on the dire straights we find ourselves in as a country when we refuse to acknowledge the God that is foundational to our guiding principles and beginning documents.
George Washington said that no national morality could exist with the exclusion of religious principle. John Adams said that our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people, that it was wholly inadequate to the government of any other. And Benjamin Franklin stated to a citizen that asked him what kind of government the Constitution was bringing into existence, "A Republic madam, if you can keep it."
Join Bill Heid and Judge Roy Moore as they discuss the direction our country is headed, the usurpation of power between the branches of government, and why we must get back to the limits the Constitution places on the power of government to dictate our lives:
