Vanessa Ceruti, the representative of Chile that will compete in the upcoming Miss Universe pageant will wear a dress designed to honor the Chilean miners that were trapped for almost a month.

The design was created by Eduardo and Hernan Cerda Vecchi. "The dress is a fantasy that serves a modern concept of fashion, highlights her figure and represents the identity and history of Chile. It is hand painted, woven with copper wire and encrusted with crystals and stones alluding to the lapislazuli minerals found in Chile mines "explained the designer.
"The top of the dress has orange tones, calypso and green to resemble the various states of copper, while the skirt evokes the rock of a mine," added the designer.
Ceruti will compete in the Miss Universe Contest, to take place in September 12 in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Vanessa Ceruti, la representante de Chile competirá en el próximo certamen de Miss Universo. Ella exhibirá como "traje típico" de Chile un vestido para honrar a los mineros que se quedaron atrapados despues de un derrumbe de la mina en la que trabajaban.
El diseño fue creado por Eduardo Cerda y Hernán Vecchi. "El traje es una fantasía que responde a un concepto moderno de la moda, destaca su figura y representa la identidad y la historia el país. Es pintado a mano, tejido con alambres de cobre y cuenta con incrustaciones de cristales y piedras alusivas al lapislázuli", explicaron los diseñadores.
"La parte superior del vestido posee tonalidades anaranjadas, calipsas y verdosas para asemejar los diversos estados del cobre, mientras que la falda evoca la roca de una mina", agregaron los responsables del diseño.
Ceruti competirá en el certamen de Miss Universo el 12 de septiembre en Sao Paulo, Brasil.
