"THE HONOR TREE" by Ava McAllister - A Barnes And Noble "KIDS CLUB" Pick!

So, I was sitting in the airport...waiting for one of my flights to Blogher 2011 and I started chatting with this friendly lady, who had been busily taking phone calls and jotting down info in a journal.  At first, I thought maybe she was on her way to Blogher too!  But after chit chatting for awhile, I leared that she was headed to a writing conference instead.  She was an author and just had a book published recently that she was really proud of and excited to share with me:

 

It's called "THE HONOR TREE" by Ava McAllister and  Barnes and Noble loved her book so much, they made it a part of their "Kid's Club" books.

 

I had a feeling my oldest daughter would really like this book, as well...

And I was right!!

The story line:

Young Indigo is really excited about the honor tree ceremony. He is a little puzzled about the honor needed to plant the honor tree. He takes a small journey through his village and discovers the true meaning of honor. This is a story of a young observer of life who starts the journey of becoming a great teacher to others.

 

In my opinion, this well written, beautifully illustrated book...would be a great addition to every school library or classroom (for that matter).
