Yesterday, my first published novel made its debut. What and incredible day that was. It was terribly busy, because in between bouts of muy muy importante work, I had to do my #1 job and be a mom. Plus, we are smart people who decided adopting a new dog on the busiest week of my life was a good idea.
Yeah. Not very smart. However, my Ginger is incredibly smart and sweet and low key...and I already adore her.
So anyway, once my wonderful nerd got home, I went to dinner with my girlfriends and early readers/fans to celebrate the release of The What If Guy. Though I would have preferred to celebrate with my hubby, after the entire last week of family togetherness, he was encouraging me to go with my friends. (He's a keeper, girls)
We went out for some Italian food and I ate the most delicious and fattening seafood pasta with shrimp, mussels, and scallops. It was toe-curling good. One of my friends brought me a chocolate bar with rice krispie treats in the middle, and told me to always keep the "snap, crackle, and pop" in my work and in my personality.
Um, hello awesome! Talk about saying exactly what I needed to hear last night! (it turned out to be one of those days, and nights, where no matter how good I felt about myself, someone was always there to knock me off of my pedestal. Very emotionally tiring....and not what I needed on the single most exciting day of my career. But hey, what are you gonna do?)
Then we sat around giggling and laughing and talking clear into the night in my driveway. I really needed that. Really, I did. Thanks girls. You know who you are.
So anyway....debut day was fun. A success, even though it was slightly harried and kind of deflating at times. I am now officially a published author. #312 on my bucket list can be checked off. Now its on to editing my trilogy and writing my new WIP, which is a fun book, if I do say so myself!
Thanks for all of your support.
Brooke Moss.
