I thought the media coverage of the controversy over Barack Obama's constitutional eligibility was shameful for the first two years of his administration.
But even that incredibly one-sided, biased charade pales in comparison to the media cover-up that began the day Obama released what he claims is his long-awaited birth certificate – you know, the one that alternately couldn't be released, couldn't be obtained, had already been released or might embarrass the president, the one worth spending millions of dollars to conceal and the one a decorated military doctor was allowed to be imprisoned to protect.
I watched in amazement as virtually every single media outlet immediately accepted the document as genuine within seconds of seeing an image on the White House website – without any testing, authentication or questioning.
And I have watched in horror as the constitutional requirement of "natural born citizen" has been defined down to mean anyone born in the USA – a meaning never before imputed to it in the history of the republic.
Thank goodness the American people are not all stupid.
