Sure, it sounds like some sort of mafia movie, but in fact, this is a strong drama set in the midst of the financial crysis, providing thoughtful insight into the restructuring of the corporate world. The story of people getting fired, trying to make a fresh start while maintaining their lifestyles and discovering a new pespective of things they took for granted is handled with a surprisingly positive tone by writer/director John Wells, a man with extensive TV writing experience (
"The West Wing",
"ER", "Shameless") and ultimately milked to its full potential. Great acting showcase from veteran actors Tommy Lee Jones and Chris Cooper, and a surprisingly good dramatic turn from Ben Affleck. Not a timeless classic, but an often overlooked gem.
