New on DVD & Blu-Ray : SUCKER PUNCH (2011)

The story of a young woman in a mental institution, rebelling against the system within a schizophrenic dreamscape version of reality, with the aid of fellow inmates, is a visual wet dream, if nothing else. The surreal blend of genres gives birth to an irreverent visual style that is uniquely engaging and definitely worth exploring. Too bad the movie doesn't have the same interest when it comes to characters and story. All things considered, this is the cinematic equivalent of a video-game. But, like I said, it's one hell of a guilty pleasure. The extended cut on Blu-Ray is 18 minutes longer.
