I decided to re-read all of her books this month, as her latest book, My One and Only (Hqn)
Ok, so I started with:
Just One of the Guys...This one is hilarious, and I can relate to the main character. She is tall and cumbersome, and she can't quite catch a break, and I've so been there as a tall, plus sized woman. I love this story....and the ending? To die for. Romantic to the 30th degree.
Next, I read this one:
The Next Best Thing. This book is sexy. The hero character, Ethan Mirabelli? Hot. I love him. He floats my boat. Plus, I like the idea of a very flawed heroine, who isn't just sitting around with bad things happening to her. She is actually making mistakes. Which, in turn, makes her human. Go figure. Love this book. Love, love, love it.
Then I read:
Too Good To Be True. This was my first KH book I ever read, and I wound up reading ALL of her books within 2 weeks after that. Yeah...it converted me. Big time. Oh boyoboyoboy. Callahan O'Shea is a sexy bastard. And I love the fact that the heroine (in ALL of Ms. Higgins' books) is so flawed. Her hair is a hot mess. She is hung up on someone else...she is so incredibly real. And look what happens....she gets the hot guy? Who cares that he's an ex con? Great story.
Okay, so now I am reading:
Fools Rush In. This story wasn't my favorite of KH's books, but it was absolutely the funniest. So help me, when Millie opens the seashell lamp from her beloved Joe, and it is ugly as hell, and Sam's leather faced partner announces, "That's g*ddamed gorgeous" I nearly peed my pants. Not joking. Its a HILARIOUS read. Maybe because.......I've been there. I've obsessed. I've stalked. I've been that creepy girl crushing on "The Glorious One" before. Sadly, the guy I crushed on wound up to be kind of a dufus. I saw him in a store a few years ago, and I realized that he looked....well, how do I say this politely...mildly mentally handicapped. Woops.
Ok, so the point of this post is: Go get Kristan Higgin's books. Now. Right now. This very minute. I will be posting on her last two books, All I Ever Wanted (Hqn)
Brooke Moss.
