Someday....maybe.....kind of.

I watched a movie on the Lifetime Movie Network last night while I was writing. It was "Flirting With 40" and based on the book by Jane Porter.

As many of you know, I met Jane Porter at the conference this past October, and then I got to have dinner with her and attend her book signing at Auntie's this past fall. And...as many of you know, I was in awe. She's incredibly gracious and generous. And she's a talented published writer, to boot! Go her!

Anyway, so one of her books has been made into a Lifetime movie. I mean, how freaking cool is that?? It wasn't half bad, either. My only complaint was that Heather Locklear (the star) has her face injected with enough crap to fill a dump truck, and she really was prettier before she did that to herself. Other than that...the hero character was played by this hottie tottie that I won't soon forget, and at the end of the movie, I was sitting there in my bed grinning like a moron. It was cute. I liked it. And I am in complete admiration of Jane Porters success.

Anyway...it got me thinking...what if it was one of MY books being made into a Liftetime movie??

I mean, holy Sh*t. How incredible would that be?

First of all, my books are right up the Lifetime alley. Emotion, drama, schmooze...they've got it all. What if one of my books get made into a story starring some actor I remember from Melrose Place? What it my book gets made into a story with a hero played by a hottie from Baywatch?? I can't even wrap my head around it.

It makes me excited to keep writing. This isn't a far fetched dream, per say. I write single title contemporary women's fiction. Thats what those movies are based on....it could happen. And if I did, it would be a real kick in the pants! How many other women I know around here have had a LMN movie made about their book? None. HA!

I've decided to let this motivate me. I will keep reaching for my brass ring. I will hit the same levels of success that Jane Porter and dozens of other authors have hit!
