Jane Porter is coming to Spokane next week, and I am going to go see her! I've already got two of her books (She's Gone Country, and
Odd Mom Out) signed, so I think I will probably have to get one of her other books for her to sign. Her postcard also mentioned going to dinner beforehand, and so I am trying to decide if I can get through a dinner with an author I really admire, without making a boob of myself.Do you think I can do it?
Yah. That's what I thought.
So anyway, I am still chewing on that a bit. I do know that the workshops on marketing that I took at the conference talked about
networking at any opportunity. Being friendly with a published author that I admire is an incredible connection to have. But, on the other hand...hanging out with a chill author that writes books that make me laugh and cry and want to tackle my husband....that's a pretty cool friendship to have. But.......the question remains:
Can I get through an evening with Jane Porter without pulling another "Brenda Novak Situation"?
